Each quarter the WDCSC newsletter will bring you a variety of facts and figures showing the impact Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds and the WorkSource Snohomish County system, is having on the lives of Snohomish County residents. Enrollment numbers for the WorkSource Snohomish County youth programs are detailed below. For more information about the following youth programs, visit our web site by clicking here.
During the third quarter of the program year (January 1, 2008 - March 31, 2008), Snohomish County WIA youth programs served 164 youth in the following programs:

Step Up Program
Lakewood, Arlington, & Stanwood-Camano School Districts
- Of the 48 students participating in the program:
- 30 have earned an incentive for positive work evaluations and/or earned academic credit
- 10 have been placed in unsubsidized employment
- 26 have been placed in subsidized employment
- 6 received support services
- 1 completed A+ Essentials Computer Training
- Of the 22 students who are in program follow-up:
- 15 are currently employed
- 6 are attending post-secondary education
Project STAR (Supporting Teens at Risk)
Everett School District
- 80 youth received service
- 36 students are on time to receive their diploma
- 22 students exited from the program
- 141.75 credits have been earned!
Student Adventures in Learning (SAIL) Program
Edmonds School District
- SAIL is currently serving 36 students
- 2 of these students are new enrollments
- 6 of these students gained new employment during this quarter
- 19 of these youth are currently employed
- 25 of these students have earned one or more incentive awards based on school attendance and positive academic performance

Snohomish County AmeriCorps Program
A Program of Workforce Development Council Snohomish County
Since September 2007, the beginning of the current AmeriCorps Program year:
- 1,789 youth have participated in leadership and development activities
- 18 AmeriCorps Program Members have been trained in life skills and skills to enhance their service and contributed 7,532 hours of service to the community
- 1,616 volunteers have been recruited and donated
