Late last month I had the privilege of traveling to Washington DC to meet with our legislators and their staff about the good work we do in Snohomish County as we build a globally competitive workforce.
In WDCSC's new Strategic Plan, the Board of Directors outlines four strategic goals, each with a number of supporting objectives. Goal One states: "A Snohomish County workforce development system that is 100% globally competitive." Under this goal, the second objective states that the WDCSC Board will take an advocacy role in public policy issues affecting Snohomish County's workforce. A truly inspirational success story comes from the Center for Career Alternatives (CCA), who recently wrote to us about a student named “Michelle” who made transformational change through her participation in the valuable Career Readiness program.
Each quarter the WDCSC newsletter will bring you a variety of facts and figures showing the impact Workforce Investment Act funds, and the WorkSource Snohomish County system, is having on the lives of Snohomish County residents.
